About
Our founder, Brad Rigsby, is a registered professional mechanical engineer (Louisiana PE.0030731) with over 30 years of design consulting and project experience. In 2012, his family decided to build a backyard oasis with a pool, patio cover, and landscaping. Brad found that the builders he spoke to were in a rush to produce a proposal without fully considering his needs. Brad’s family was left with inconsistent designs for their project that made choosing the right builder impossible.
Brad applied his design background to produce his own project design that was custom tailored to his family’s needs. He presented the design to a capable builder, they agreed to a plan, and he oversaw the construction with immense interest. The overlaps between his engineering knowledge and this project felt like a perfect fit — and a new passion was born.
Since then Brad has established Tailored Backyards and has designed a multitude of outdoor projects for other people. He has developed a streamlined design process that ensures accuracy and consistency.

Our mission is to elevate the experience of converting your dreams into reality. We accomplish this through thoughtful consultation, creative use of design, application of sound engineering practices, and production of thorough documentation.
